APA Secretary General’s Participation in Antalya Diplomacy Forum
As a major International event, Antalya Diplomacy Forum is regarded as an excellent platform for exchange of views and ideas to address challenges facing the world.
At its first annual meeting held on June 18-20 the Antalya Diplomacy Forum could bring together many high level personalities, including representatives of international and regional organizations as well as parliamentary bodies to discuss innovative diplomacy in the digital era.
Secretary General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, Dr. Majadi was among special guests invited by H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the Honorable Foreign Minister of Turkey to share his perspective on the steps to be taken to increase efficiency of regional organizations.
As a panelist in the Panel on “How to increase the effectiveness of Regional Organizations” Dr. Majid expressed his ideas in a brief address to the panel and raised two questions for deliberation on how parliamentary organizations can contribute to promotion of regional cooperation and how can we increase efficiency of the APA for enhancement of regional cooperation in Asia.
There was a lively interaction at this Panel and participants actively contributed to share their perspectives through raising insightful views and ideas to further enrich the issue under discussion.
Beside participation at the Meeting, Dr. Majidi seized this event as an invaluable opportunity to meet and talk with some dignitaries on the sideline of the Forum.
At his meeting with Her Excellency Ms. Erdoğan, Head of the APA Turkish Group and representative of the APA President fruitful exchange of views was made on the future of APA Programs.
Dr. Majidi had also a bilateral meeting with H.E. Ambassador Kairat Saryby, Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat at his prior request. This was an important occasion for the two sides and a precious opportunity to discuss issues of common interest and exchange views on the best practices for future cooperation.
